POWER BOARD OFFICERS
Wage Rises 0£ Up To £4O Workers under the Northern, Canterbury and Otago and Southland electric power boards’ officers' award have been granted pay rises ranging from £l5 to £4O a year. Rates for male workers have, increased by £25 for the first year, £l5 for the second and third years, £2O for the fourth to ninth year, £25 for the tenth to twelfth year, and £3O for the thirteenth year. Female workers have been granted an increase of £25 in the first year, £l5 in the second a’nd third year, £4O in the fourth year, £25 in the fifth, sixth and seventh years. £3O in the eighth year and £35 in the ninth year.. Increments payable for professional examinations have also been altered. The award became effective from August 1.
The award an<J its conditions were arrived at in conciliation. Workers excluded from the terms of the award are those who earn more than £1305 a year apart from overtime and female workers who, apart from ■ overtime, earn more than £B4O a year. The new award is subject to the general wage order on and from September 10.
