POOL AT TUNNEL
Mr Amos Asks For Garden The ornamental pool under the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority’s administration building at Heathcqte should he reconsidered, Mr L. G. Amos proposed to the authority yesterday. “It will never be a beautiful thing: it will always be an eyesore,” he said. Perhaps something like a rhododendron dell or a lawn garden could be considered and the stream piped. That would save maintenance, prevent a possible danger to children, and appeal more to the eye. The contractor was building the pool, said Mr W. P. Glue, chairman of the works committee. He favoured developing it and then seeing how it looked. “It looks to me as though, before long it is going to be' dry anyway,” he added.
