Training For Advisers
A careers advisers’ training course which began at Lincoln College on Monday will conclude tomorrow. It has been organised by the Christchurch vocational guidance centre of the Education Department, and is held each year.
Thirty-five men and women newly appointed as careers advisors from South Island districts and Hastings, Wanganui, Wellington and Foxton are attending the course. Yesterday they visited engineering works, a hospital and carpet and clothing manufacturers in Christchurch.
The course is designed to give the advisors .background in the subjects useful to them in their work in schools and in helping young people plan their careers.
