(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, August 3. A 24-year-old blind Aucklander, Mr M. D. McKenzie, and his wife, Rosemary, who has reduced vision, brought • with them in the Ceramic , today a yellow labrador guide dog. Mr McKenzie has been away , for four years and met his • wife during a three-year J course at the Royal National Institute for the Blind, where they trained as physiotherapists. He has applied to the Auckland Hospital Board for a ' position, but his wife is not seeking one as she is expecting a baby in November. Before getting the guide dog six months ago, Mr McKenzie said he had to rely on a white cane.
Jessel, the dog, has taken a lot of stress from his life. She does not have to go into quarantine.
