NEW PLYMOUTH, July 21. After 17 consecutive days of rain in New Plymouth and more showers in prospect. Rugby Park is certain to be heavy for Taranaki's match against Buller tomorrow—the first of nine Ranfurly Shield challenges set down for this season.
The Buller manager. Mr S. J. Daly, is not concerned about Taranaki’s reputation. “If our boys can get to the loose ball, we’ve got a great show,” he said today. The fact that Buller has lost its three games so far this season had no bearing on tomorrow’s game, he claimed.
“We were building up for this game and our boys will be at their peak tomorrow.”
