GRANTED VISAS
5 Communist Journalists (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 29. The granting of visas to five journalists from Communist newspapers to visit New Zealand at the end of this week has been approved. Government sources confirmed this afternoon that the applications were considered individually and approved in all cases.
The journalists, representing the newspapers “Pravda” (Soviet Union), the “People's Daily” (Communist China), the “Tribune” (Australia), “Akahata” (Japan), and ■ the “People’s Daily” (Indonesia) have been invited as guests of the New. Zealand Communist Party newspaper the “People’s Voice,” which will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary soon.
When they are in Wellington next week the journalists will attend a dance and press exhibition in the Trades Hall
They will also attend functions in Auckland, Christ, church, Dunedin and Greymouth.
