WANGANUI JURY ROLL
3200 Women
Decline (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, June 26. More than 3200 women notified for jury service at Wanganui have declined to have their names on the jury roll. The number compares with 991 men who have satisfied the Court that they should not be included on the list, the jury officer, Mr E. D. Churcher, said this evening. Notices sent ot'J. totalled 11,500, of which approximately 50 per cent went to women. By contrast, there have been fewer objections from Maoris for jury service. Of the 150 notices returned to Court by men and women on the Maori roll, there have been only 29 objections.
