HORSE HIT BY CAR
Had To Be Destroyed SN.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 26. A racehorse had- to be destroyed after it was involved in an accident on the Main South road near Gore today. The horse was a three-year-old gelding, Andy’s Gray, by Kurdistan, out of Sumra, owned by Messrs G. A. and A. N. Farry, of Gore, and trained by E. A. Winsloe. Several horses were being led along the side of the road when Andy’s Gray broke loose and went out on the road.
A small car travelling north was struck in the rear by a Forestry Department truck when it slowed down to avoid the horse. The light car was pushed into the horse; breaking its leg.
