Thousands of next year’s American cars will have pistons made from New Zealand casting dies. The precision dies have been made in the 26-man toolroom of Associated Engineering (N.Z.) Ltd., in Auckland. Details of the new models are so secret that even the toolmakers who made the dies do not know what models the pistons will be used in The dies have been produced to specifications laid down in American technical drawings, and the dies had to be accurate within£ol of an inch.
