STUDEBAKER PROGRESS
The latest model Studebakers are in production at the firm’s Canadian plant,
and the company has announced yearly style changes will be discontinued in favour of continual technical and mechanical improvements. Improvements will be made as soon as they are developed, and there will be no annual new model.
A major expansion project is under way at the Canadian plant, and production capacity will be tripled by the end of this year. Canadian-made cars are being shipped to 88 cities in the United States, and exported c.k.d. to six countries, including New Zealand. A '
Bright Idea Special reflecting strips that can be stuck to the edges of car doors are being distributed free to motorists by the Atlantic Union Oil Company Ltd. These are excellent safety devices, and show up from a great distance whenever a door is opened both by day and night. Some more thoughtful motorists have already fastened reflecting tape to the edges of their offside doors, but these reflectors are even more effective, particularly during the day. The reflectors were designed in the United States to protect drivers and passengers alighting from cars on the driver's side. They are self-adhesive. The Enemy.
