Works-entered Triumph Spitfires will appear in an international rally for the first time in the Alpine Rally on June 23 to 27. Three cars are being entered by the works and a further one is being entered by Stirling Moss’s racing team and Will be driven by Miss Valerie Pirie. All four cars will use production 1147 c.c. engines with the company’s stage two tune kit: wide timing camshafts and double twinchoke carburettors. Slotemaker, and the reserve driver is Jean-Paul Behra, son of the famous racing driver.
