Play Received Good Hearing
Members of the Catholic Women’s League drama group received an enthusiastic hearing when they presented a one-act drama “Cloudburst” by Mary Neild recently. Members of the cast were Rhona O’Brien, Una Ferguson, Helen Burns, and Pauline Ferguson. The play was produced by Maureen Gill.
The homemakers’ group of the C.W.L. entertained teenage daughters at their 146th meeting.
The Rev. Father J. Cunneen spoke of the necessity of mothers’ undertsanding the “modern teens” and asked the daughters to show consideration to their parents. The programme included a paradette of frocks, suits and hats modelled by the daughters of members and compered by Mrs Iris Horgan. At the conclusion several of the recent debutantes appeared in their debutante frocks.
