Sundeed & Misere Work Impressively

“The PreSs” Special Service

PALMERSTON NORTH, May 28. Sundeed and Misere enhanced their Wanganui prospects when they worked impressively at Awapuni today. Sundeed galloped pleasingly over seven furlongs with Garwan and Nightmill, While Misere equalled the best time for half a mile when he worked with High Lady. Flockhart jumped two brush hurdles brilliantly in preparation for the Century Hurdles, and others to work well included Diavolo, Speedaway, Kathie Kildare, Deputy, and Courtman.

On the course proper 45ft out, Sundeed was travelling well on the inside of Nightmill and Garwan at the end of seven furlongs in Imin 37 3-ssec, the last three in 41 l-ssec. The time was not fast, but the three horses all worked well. Sundeed is a

fancied runner in the Sir Thomas Duncan Handicap. Garwan, who is in the Century Hurdles, schooled on Wednesday with Extender. He did not jump well, but it is believed to have been his first school for 18 months. He won Over brush hurdles in Australia and will have to be respected on Saturday. His recent form on the flat has been sound. Misere and the promising High Lady were together and working well at the end of half a mile in 51sec, the last three furlongs in 38isec. It takes a good horse to stay with Misere, so High Lady did well. Misere will be entitled to favouritism in the Trial Plate at Wanganui. Red Hot and Hermalon worked . strongly over half a mile in 51 l-ssec. Kathie Kildare shaded My Desire at the end of half a mile in 51sec. Speedaway shaded Llansgaro at the end of half a mile in 54sec. Diavolo and Triomphe finished ahead of Hard Hit over the final stages of five furlongs in Imin 9 3-ssec. Never Off. Bit Deputy was never off the bit when he ran six furlongs in Imin 22 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 42sec. He ran on well at Masterton and should be a good prospect for the Champion Hack .Handicap at Wanganui. Courtman was always doing better than Spookes and Triple Try when they ran five furlongs in Imin .Ssec, the final three in 40 3-ssec. Flockhart and Great Red ran a working gallop over six furlongs in Imin 22 3-ssec, the last three in 40 3-ssec. Before galloping they jumped two brush hutdles, with Flockhart putting in two brilliant leaps to finish clear of his companion.
