GUARDSMEN WANTED
Formation Of Association
Lieutenant-Colonel R. T. Marriott, of Wellington, would like to know where in the South Island former members of the Brigade of Guards now live. After the Scots Guards band’s recent visit to New Zealand, former Wellington guardsmen decided to form another branch of the Guards’ Association, said Colonel Marriott. Branches already existed in Auckland and Waikato. The national council of the asscociation had endorsed the proposal for a South Island branch, but had decided as an interim measure that the South Island should be part of the Wellington branch, he said. Colonel Marriott, chairman of the Wellington branch of the Guards’ Association, said all former members of the brigade regiments Life, Horse, Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish, and Welshshould write to him c/o P.O. Box 2377, Wellington.
