New Camp At Lakes Park
The West Bay area of Lake Rotoiti is to be serviced to provide the main camping and picnic area in that part of the Nelson Lakes National Park, the park board has decided. The idea is for the existing main camping area between St. Arnaud township and the lake to be freed for the increasing numbers of day visitors to the area.
A footbridge 100 ft long has been built over the Sabine river at the Sabine forks, replacing the walking-wires there. The materials were flown in by helicopter.
