“Wildcat” Oil Well Planned
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 14. > A “wildcat” well would be drilled to a depth of about 8000 ft by Shell-8.P.-Todd Oil Services, Ltd., in an area not previously explored by the ] company, the chairman (Mr J. B. Price) said today. A site has been selected at Parikino, about 20 miles north of Wanganui on the left bank of the river. Some sections of the access road are being straightened to permit the passage of the heavy drilling equipment being brought from New Plymouth. Drilling Was expected to begin in two or three months, Mr Price said.
