MORNING-ONLY CONFERENCE
Anglican Men’s Society “Looking At Ourselves” will be the title of an address by the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. W. A. Pyatt) to the annual morning-only conference of the Christchurch Diocesan Council of England Men’s Society on Saturday, May 23. Preceded by a Communion service at 8 a.m., the conference will follow the pattern of last year, and end at 12.30 p.m. to allow men attending to follow their usual Saturday afternoon activities. The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) will celebrate Communion, and the preacher will be Bishop L. Alufurai, of the Diocese of Melanesia. Breakfast will be held at St. Peter’s Hall, Upper Riccarton, and the conference, at which Bishop Warren will preside, will start at 10 a.m. Invitations have been extended to all clergy 'and laymen in the diocese to attend the conference. To make it easier for men from country parishes to attend billets had been arranged for the Friday night, said the secretary of the society (Mr M. Elder).
