Sixty-three acres and 16 perches of heavy grazing and agricultural land at Springston was sold for £5426 12s at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of the estate of R. J. McGee by Mr G. B. McCredie. There are no buildings on the land, which is subdivided into seven paddocks. The initial bid was £7O an acre. There were 16 bids of £l. Offered on account of the estate of W. L. Power, a house at 230 Wairakei road, Bryndwr, was sold for £3500. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. Bidding started at £3OOO. There were five bids of £lOO. The house has two bedrooms, sun-bedroom, lounge, dining-room, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. There is also a garage and a workshop on the section of 32.5 perches. An adjoining section at 228 Wairakei road was sold for £l4OO. A house on a section of 15 perches at 19 Clothier street,

Richmond, was sold for £2400. The property was offered on account of the estate of Barbara Elsie Clephane by Mr E. G. Keenan. The house is on a section zoned light industrial. The section has a frontage of 45 feet, and a depth of 95 feet 5 inches. Three bidders provided keen competition. The opening bid was £l6OO. There were six bids of £lOO, two of £5O, eight of £lO, and four of £5. The government valution is £1430.
