BROKE INTO HOUSES
Occupants At TV (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 24. Housebreaking offences committed while the occupants of the homes were watching television were among those admitted in the Lower Hutt Magistrate’s Court today by Buster Mahanga Huhu, aged 18, an apprentice carpenter. In addition to two housebreaking offences Huhu pleaded guilty to two charges of theft and one of unlawfully taking a bicycle. Property and money stolen by Huhu amounted to £392 9s 9ct, of which property worth £2lO 7s 6d had been re, covered, Detective Senior Sergeant J. Nancarrow said. In sentencing Huhu to borstal training, Mr J. K. Patterson, S.M., said a chance of reformation might have been offered but for a history of previous crimes and warnings. Huhu seemed unable to appreciate that he must not interfere with other people’s property, Mr Patterson said.
