BURNSIDE C.W.I.

The Burnside C.W.I. held its first annual meeting. The institute has grown steadily since the inaugural meeting and members show a great interest in competitions and welfare work. For their roll call at the meeting each member brought a gift for a stall for the Aged People’s Welfare Council. Members are collecting used stamps for cancer research funds, and they made and donated a layette to Bethany Hospital. Mrs S. A. Jacobs received a prize for the most points in the best bloom competition and Mrs J. W. Wright for most points in all competitions. Officers elected were: president, Mrs L. Holland; committee, Mesdames J. Dunstan, A. D. Dunstan, G. A. Hill, M. J. Hines, J. A. Ince, S. A. Jacobs, B. F. Kitohingham, G. L. R. McMeekan, C. McMillan, and J. W. Wright.
