Canterbury Pipe Bands Dominate Quickstep

DUNEDIN, March 13. Canterbury bands dominated the quickstep section of the Dominion pipe band championships at Carisbrook today. Canterbury bands were placed first and third in both the A Grade and the B Grade quickstep. A particularly outstanding performance was given by

the Canterbury Caledcnian Society’s Pipe Band, which, alhough placed third in the B Grade for the quickstep, scored highest music points of 94.966 for the grade. Low drill points, only 82, lost the band a higher placing. The only women’s band in this year’s contest, the City of Christchurch Highland Pipe Band Ladies’ section, was placed third in the C Grade quickstep.
