Foreign Ships Being Watched

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 13. A close watch was being kept on the foreign ships which have been reported in the last few days in the waters off Southland and Otago, a Marine Department spokesman said in Wellington today. Early today three vessels, believed to be Russian whalechasers, were sighted about four miles and a half out from Taiaroa Head, with a mother ship about 20 miles out. Glenmore P.T.A.— At a meeting of the Glenmore School Parent-Teacher Association the following officers were elected:—president, Mr J. Johnston; vice-president, Mr C. W. Caldwell; treasurer, Mr J. H. Broomhead; secretary, Mrs J. Atkinson; committee, Mesdames K. C. Neate, J. W. Milligan, D. G. Stapp, P. Riley, and J. Ruth.
