Opposition’s View (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 13. "News of the World Bank loan of 32,500,000 dollars, additional to other substantial loans raised in London and New York this financial year, must focus attention on the alarming manner in which New Zealand’s loan indebtedness overseas, both Government and private, is increasing," said the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nordmeyer), commenting on the news of the World Bank loan for the Cook Strait cable. “The situation is all the more disconcerting when it is realised that this indebtedness is being incurred at a time of record earnings for exports,’* said Mr Nordmeyer.
