HURT MAN ISOLATED
Helicopter To Try Rescue (N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, March 13. A helicopter will fly a mercy mission from Gisborne to Waimana Gorge, in the Bay of Plenty, tomorrow morning to attempt to rescue a Maori partially paralysed when a landslide nearly demolished his home on Wednesday. The severely injured man Mr Sam Biddle, aged about 40. His home in the Matahi Valley, eight miles up the Waimana Gorge, is isolated by slips and washouts. The rescue has been organised by Chief Inspector R. A. Moore, of the Gisborne police district, who will accompany the pilot of the helicopter. Mr Frank Mettner.
