Annual Jersey Cattle Show Held At Rangiora

There were more than 200 entries from 14 exhibitors in the successful Canterbury Jersey cattle show held at the Rangiora Show Grounds on Saturday. The show is held annually by the North Canterbury Jersey Cattle Club. This year the 21 classes were judged by Mr A. N. Jenkins who said the standard of cattle paraded would compare favourably with that of animals from any part of the country- The top exhibits were outstanding, he added. Mr Jenkins congratulated the club for conducting such a well organised show. Championships Championship awards were made as follows:

Females.—Senior champion: F. W. Hansen’s Lilac Grove Heidi; reserve, F. E. Martyn and Son’s Silverlea Vivian. Junior champion: T. M. Fleming’s Summer Lea Andrea; reserve, F. W. Hansen’s Lilac Grove Roseberry. Males.—Senior champion: F. W. Hansen’s Meridale Gallant Lad; reserve, R. W. Frost’s Deerslade Regal. Junior champion; D. J.
