NEW DAIRY RECORDS

High Output

To Continue

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 17.

Dairy production for 196364 is setting new records, according to the Dairy Board. The board’s bulletin says output in many parts of the country is at the highest level yet recorded. “Production is expected to Continue at high levels.”

For the seven months to the end of December butterfat processed amounted to 319,100,0001 b—six million lb higher than the corresponding period last season and 15,600,0001 b above the fiveyear average.

Butter manufacture, at 142,127 tons for the seven, months, was at a record level, says the bulletin, but this was partly because of the deliberate diversion of milk supply from cheese to butter this season.

“Output of other products for .the seven months was also ahead of last year, with manufacture of casein, skim milk powder and buttermilk powder at record levels,” it says.'
