GUERRILLAS IN SABAH

If Indonesian guerrillas obeyed President Soekamo’s orders and held their ground in Malaysian Borneo, they would starve to death, according to Mr Donald Stephens, Chief Minister of Sabah. The Indonesians had “absolutely no contact with their troops in Sabah,” Mr Stephens said. He declined to give the estimated strength of this guerrilla force, but said lit was completely encircled. It had the choice of surrendering. fighting its way out. or starving to death. One captured guerrilla told his interrogators he had been Iving on roots and jungle fruits for 24 days.
