Simpson To Be Captain
(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 14. R. B. Simpson, of New South Wales, today was named captain, of the Australian cricket team to tour England this year. The Australian Cricket Board of Control, in announcing the appointment, did notname a vice-captain. Simpson, who was 28 on February 3, succeeded R. Benaud as Australia’s captain when Benaud voluntarily stood down after one test of the recent series against South Africa.
