RUSHED TO HOSPITAL
Injured Man From Raoul (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb, 14. A waiting ambulance took an injured man from the frigate Rotoiti as soon as she berthed, tonight and rushed him to Middlemore Hospital The patient, William James Allen, a mechanic, single, aged 44. has a spinal injury. On Tuesday the Rotoiti left Auckland for Raoul Island to pick up the patient, who is a member of the meteorological station staff on the island. Mr Allen was injured when he was struck by a toppling 44-gallon drum. The Rotoiti made the 1173-mile return voyage in 79 hours.
