LOTTERY GRANTS
£85,900 For Research (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. Scientific research grants totalling £85,900 were announced today by the chairman of the Golden Kiwi Board of Control (Sir Leon Getz). He said he had been advised of the allocations by the chairman of the distribution committee for scientific research (Mr B. R. Law). The following grants were made: To Dr. E. J. BaHiam. of the' Portobello Marine Institute, £43,500 for research into important marine species. To Mr N. H. Law, of the Meat Industries Research Institute. Hamilton, £19.400 for the purchase of an electret, microscope for research units in the Waikato. To Canterbury Museum. £15,000 for an approved programme in the entomological field. To Dr. L. R. Richardson, of Victoria University. £BOOO for fisheries research.
