Foxton Top Challenger

The field for the 1963 Canterbury stroke championship to be held at Templeton tomorrow and at Russley on Sunday is not as strong or large as could have been expected.

This is due to the fact that the event was fixed for this week-end without it being realised it would coincide with the A and P. Show

Last tear’s co-winners were R. E. Clements and R. C Murray with 296 each, and with Murray absent this year the battle will probably be between Clements and K. D. Foxton. with I. B. Cromb another likely contender. Provided the weather holds, the scoring should be low as both greens are in excellent condition.
