IMPORT ORDERS INCREASE
£2.6m Rise In September The value of overseas orders placed by surveyed firms in September, 1963, was much higher than that for orders placed in September last year, according to the Government Statistician. The survey covers half the private imports. It shows that orders in September were valued at £ 13.2 m, compared with £ 10.6 m in the same month of 1962. Orders placed in the three months ended September, 1963, were 11 per cent higher than in the same period of last year.
