Wanganui Club’s Year "The Press" Special Service WANGANUI, Sept. "11. A notable increase in oncourse and pff-course betting emphasises the benefits of the change to night racing, states the report of the president (Mr A. M. Edwards), to be presented to members at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Trotting Club tomorrow night. Last November the club transferrod to Awapuini to race under lights at the Manawatu Trotting Club’s new course. On course the two-day 1962 meeting handled £62,482, compared with £35,869 10s the previous year at the Wanganui racecourse. The offcourse total was £146,949 10s compared with £36,346 10s. The stakes paid by the club last season, £6430, were a record and were responsible for an over-all loss of £894 6s 3d for 1962-63. An election will be required for three vice-presi-dents and four committeemen. Mr Edwards has been re-elected unopposed.
