The Tunku told reporters he was doing this ‘‘in a friendly manner.” The Malayan Buddhist Association has appealed to the Tunku to intercede to “end the religious discrimination and persecution” in South Vietnam. The Tunku said a letter would be sent to the South Vietnamese Government through diplomatic channels.
