Rullet Near Heads
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Aug 25. A bullet which seemed to have been fired from a car on the southern motorway passed within inches of a family seated in front of their living-room fire on Friday night. “It was far too close for comfort.” said the occupier of the house. Mr A. J. Hewgill, of Kimpton road, Papatoetoe, today. The bullet passed over the heads of Mrs Hewgill, her 15-year-old daughter. Linda, and 13-year-old son. James “We heard the crack as it exploded through the window," said Mr Hewgill. It passed across the room, through the wall and landed on the front porch. The bullet was given to detectives from the Otahuhu division.
