PEDESTRIAN KILLED
Hit By Car In Harewood Rd A man was fatally injured when he was struck by a car in Harewood road, near Matsons road, about 8.45 p.m on Saturday. He was Arthur John Ellmers, aged 56, a labourer, of Riverslea. Kaiapoi. RD Mr Ellmers was taken to the Christchurch Hospital where he died at 10 50 p m. Mr Ellmers had stopped his car and gone in to a house to ask directions. He was returning to his car, where has wife was waiting for him. when he was hit by a car travelling east on Harewood road towards Papanui. He suffered serious head and other injuries.
