Boomerangs From Trees
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 22. Thousands of boomerangs will be made out of historic silver poplar trees which are being cut down this week in Melbourne’s St. Kilda road. An aboriginal craftsman, Bill Onus, is cutting the poplars as they come down and carting the limbs away for carving. Four hundred and fifty-eight trees are being felled because their condition has deteriorated.
