COURTING CRUISE
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) ROTTERDAM, July 22. About 100 spinsters and bachelors of several nationalities will sail from Rotterdam today on a five-days “lonely hearts” cruise to Spain. A spokesman for the Holland America Line, owners of tihe 24,294-ton Dutch luxury liner Staitendam, said doors of adjoining cabins would be locked and young spinsters would be chaperoned “to avoid embarrassing scenes.” The sea-borne congress follows annual lonely hearts gatherings since 1953 in the Dutch village of Grevenbicht. Most of the unwed men and women are Dutch, but a number of Germans, Belgians. Americans, Danes and Jordanians will also be aboard They will mix freely with other passengers, but will have a room reserved for their own meetings.
