Production Rise Recorded The value of output of th pulp and paper industry it 1961-82, £18.2 million, wa slightly higher than that o £lB.l million in 1960-61. say the Abstract of Statistics fo June. Major products were: wool pulp for sale as such £: million, paper board £3 mil lion, fibreboard £2.1 mil lion, newsprint £4.9 million and other paper £5.3 mil lion. Figures provided by th New Zealand Forest Servie for the year ended Marc! 31, 1963, show a large in crease in pulp productior a total of 304.000 ton* against 276.000 tons the yea before. Newsprint produce increased from 91.800 tons ii 1961- to 113.700 tons ii 1962- a rise of 24 per cen' During the calendar yea 1962, 70.100 tons of woo pulp was exported, 62,30 tons going to Australia, 400 tons to China, 2000 tons t the United Kingdom, 130 tons to the Philippines, am 500 tons to other countries Practically all the newsprin exported in 1962 (41.500 tons went to Australia.
