Lawn Tennis WINTER GAMES
Arrangements For 4th Round The round of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association's fortnightly winter inter-club competition which was set down for July 7 will now be played next Sunday. Because of rain, the matches could not be played on July 7 or on July 14, to which date they were postponed. Announcing this the chairman of the competition* committee (Mr R. P. Murphy) said it was desirable to play tile round because :t included a crucial fixture between St. Albans and Opawa. Last Sunday, the scheduled fifth round of the competition wae played and it still left three teams—Beckenham, St. Alban* and Opawa—unbeaten.
The other matches to be played next Sunday will be between Avonaide I and University, Avonatde II and Redcliffs, Avonside 111 and South Christchurch, and Beckenham and Sumner.
