The 1963 Canterbury lower grad* table tennis championship, began on Sunday with the A Reserve F G. H. and fourth grades women's events. Several country ptayers took part and the standard of play w*> fairly high R. J. Scott (Avontide), who had * good club record in A grade before hi* team was relegated. took top honour* when he won the A reserve single* title from M. J. Coppen (University) Results of final* were:— A Grade Reserve.—Men * single*: R J. Scott beet M. J. Coppen 16-21. 21-16 22-30 Men's double*: R J Scott and J. Pierce beat M. J Coppen and L Freeman 21-IS. 16-21. 21-17, Mixed doublet: C. B. Lockhart end Mr* N Stackhouse beat R Berry and Ml** L. Berry, 81. 13 21-13. F G and H Grade*.—Single*: T Green beat J. Shuttleworth. 21-11, 21-18. Men’* double*: A. Cameron and P. Sammt beat J. Sbuttleworth and J. Tavener. 21-1* IS-X 1 21-12. Mixed double*: T. Green and Mi*» M. Green beet J Tavener and Ml** M.
