Mr G O Sims, deputy Town Clerk in Auckland tor the last seven years, has been appointed assistant Town Clerk and next year will succeed the retiring Town Clerk. Mr F J. Gwllliam, as the council’s chief administrative officer. The position was advertised throughout New Zealand and attracted 13 applications -(PA)
Prelate Dies.—The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Glasgow. Dr. D A. Campbell, died today at Lourdes, France, while on a pilgrimage. He was 69.—Glasgow, July 22
