Support For State Aid
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, June 30.
Support for State aid to private schools was given by the Mayor of Rotorua (Mr A. M. Linton) at the official opening of the Roman Catholic Edmund Rice Boys’ College at Rotorua today.
Mr Linton said that as long as churches continued to build schools, he believed they had a rightful demand on the State’s help. The school, the first private one in the Bay of Plenty, was blessed and opened by the auxiliary Bishop of Auckland (the Rt. Rev. R. J. Delargey).
