Accountants’ Employees
Increases in wages ranging from 16s fid a week to £2 9s a week for male employees ate given in the Canterbury Public Accountants’ and Sharebrokers’ Employees’ Award just issued by the Arbitraition Court. The minimum weekly wages for male employees now range from £6 5s for the firsrt six months of accounting experience to £l5 for those in the ninth year of accountancy experience.'
The wages tor female employees now range from £5 a week tor the first six months of office experience to £ll 10s for the seventh year of office experience. The increases vary from 5s a week to £2 Is a week.
Extra payments are provided Where examinations have been passed. The provisions concerning wages are retrospective to M!ay 13 and the rest of the award came into force on June 7.
The award incorporates the terms of settlement reached before a Conciliation Council and includes an unqualified preference clause.
