Soccer PLAYER ABUSED REFEREE
Name Placed In Caution Book
A member of the Templeton Farm soccer team who was reported to have become argumentative with the referee of a
fourth division match had his name entered in the caution book by the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association last night. The player, R. Krom, an attendant at the farm, took part in a game between the farm eleven .and Riocarton at Templeton ’ Hospital on Saturday. The referee was Mr D. Shaw.
The committee also decided the name of G. E. Coombes (Western) should be entered in the caution book. Coombes. who played In a second division game against Technical Old Boys on Saturday, was said by the referee (Mr V. S. Smith) to have taken hold of an opponent by the shoulder and spun him off balance, after both players had been involved in a hard tackle.
The Rangers’ third division side will forfeit two competition points for fielding an unregistered player. R. Coates, in a match against New Brighton on June 1. Rangers won the game, 5-1.
