The 1963 South Island Interclub table tennis championships begin at Crichton Cobbers' Hall tomorrow.
• Apart from local entries, teams have also entered from Blenheim. Otago and Ashbur-
Wallables. winner* of the tournament laat year are again fielding a strong side. N B Radford. M. A. Cox, K. F. Stevenson and R. G. Hart have all scored well in club matches and are favourites to retain the title.
V. N Brightwell, an international. and the former Wellington representative. A. Vermes, head the Selwyn side, which will also have the 1959 New Zealand women's singles winner Mrs P. M. Purdon, in the lower bracket.
University, with D. J, Kalin. M. J. Coppen and R. Court, ha* a chance and should at least reach the semi-final. Other sides thst should be prominent include Rovers (Otago) Eagles (Christchurch), Sprlnglands (Blenheim), and Technical Old Students (Ashburton).
