Hope of Gorman And Wife (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 30. The British gaol escaper. Henry Gorman, deported from New'Zealand last year, would like to re.urn. Gorman is serving a' 22-month sentence in an Eng-i lish prison. He gave himself up to the New Zealand police and was deported in spite cf dramatic appeals on his behalf. A Methodist clergyman. Mr B. H. Riseley, a close friend of Gorman's New Zealand-; bom wife. Mrs Carol Gorman, said today the couple would very much like to return to New Zealand at the conclusion of Gorman's sentence. “Mrs Gorman is in the process of approaching the British Home Secretary in an attempt to have the six months her husband served in New Zealand taken off his present sentence," he said. “If she is successful, Gorman should be freed about; tire end of this year.” Mr Riseley said Mirs Gor- ■ man corresponded regularly! with him. “She is working, at a domestic job close to her I husband’s prison and is ex-| tremely happy.
