NEW NYLON INDUSTRY
Textile Makers Pleased (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 30. “On the basis of proposals discussed with us by the promotine parties. Fibremakers (New Zealand), Ltd., and Von Kohorn (New Zealand), Ltd., the Textile and Garment Manufacturers’ Federation welcomes the decision to set up a nylon industry In New Zealand." the federation’s president (Mr L. H. Govan) said in a statement today. He said that although the nylon industry would not in the immediate future use New Zealand raw material, i: would use New Zealand labour and thereby create work and appreciably save overseas funds.
Another important aspect was that production at the proposed types of nylon yarn would impose neither higher prices nor fashion or varie.y restrictions on the New Zealand manufacturer or consumer.
