CADUCEUS BACK
Stud Work In Spring Caduceus. one of the greatest pacers in the world in recent years, returned to Christchurch yesterday and was taken to the property of Mr D. R. Moore, of Templeton. who raced him in partnership with his brother, Mr D D Moore. Caduceus won £68.204 10s tn stakes in New Zealand and Australia, before going to America, where he won 143.372 dollars. The 13-year-old U. Scott stallion recorded the second fastest mile in a race in America last year. He returned Imin 57 '-ssec when he won at Santa Anita in April The fastest of the season was Imin 57sec recorded by Coffee Break at Springfield in August. Caduceus holds the New Zealand mile record of Imin 57 3-ssec. the mile and a quarter record of 2min 31 4-ssec. and the mile and a half record of 3min 4 2-ssec
Caduceus will do stud duty in Canterbury in the spring Before he left New Zealand he served several mares and has already been credited with one winner Honourable Son, while others have shown considerable promise.
