Went Flying At 100

(NJ!. Press Association) OAMARU, March 26. Mrs Barbara Forbes, who celebrated her hundredth birthday today, spent half an hour in the air yesterday revisiting her old homestead at Herbert. She climbed aboard a Cessna aircraft, piloted by her grandson, Mr A. McMillan, and enjoyed a flight over the North Otago countryside, taking in the Waitaki river, Oamaru, and Herbert.

Today Mrs Forbes received a telegram of congratulations from the Queen. Mrs J. Tait, of Ashburton, is one of her two surviving children.
